Thomas Robinson, the Sacramento Kings No. 5 pick, was one of the 2011-12 college basketball shining stars, leading the nation in double-doubles (27), while guiding his Kansas Jayhawks to the National Championship Game.

Although he’s recognized for his on-court talent, it’s the Washington, D.C. native’s off-court story of perseverance that has inspired so many of his teammates, friends and fans.
